Safety Officer

We are currently looking for a Safety Officer for Lethabo Power Station in Vereeniging, Gauteng.

Responsibilities of this Post:

Assist in the control of all health and safety related matters on sites.

Promote SHE cultures within the project/contract and in the company.

Ensure site safety signage complies with Health & Safety regulations.

Maintain Safety, Health & Environment Files on sites.

Conduct audits and inspections of all sites for the duration of the project.

Participate in the company’s statutory and non-statutory Health & Safety Committee meetings.

Undertake incident investigations, when required.

Maintain Risk Assessment and method statement registers.

Conduct site and visitor SHE inductions.

Be involved in all environmental incident investigations.

Advise, assist and support Site management in the management of environmental issues on the project.Which includes the Environmental Management Plan.

Requirements of this Post:

Minimum Matric certificate with relevant tertiary qualifications (SAMTRAC/OHSAS 18001/ISO 14001/NEBOSCH/Fall Protection Planning/Working at Height) training, with current certificates.

Minimum 3 years’ experience (post qualification) as a Safety Officer from within industrial plant/construction environment.

Must be SACPMP registered as a Safety Officer.

Computer literate.
